Singer turned actor Chaithra J Achar tells us she blindly agreed to play a role in actor-director Raj B Shetty’s upcoming film Toby. “If Raj wants me to play a role, I will just do it. I did not ask him what the role was about at all, I just said yes. That’s the kind of trust I have in him. In fact, I think every artiste should work with Raj at least once,” she says.However, this rule does not necessarily apply to other projects that she takes up. “If the writing is strong, there will be space for an actor to perform. So, as an actor, I would love to explore anything that comes my way, provided that the role has something big to do with the film. I don’t expect to be on screen throughout the film. Even a five-minute role should have an important part to play. Otherwise, even if the film is by a big production house, I would politely decline the offer.
